Digitek

Digitek is a cardiac glycoside drug prescribed for the treatment of certain heart conditions such as irregular heartbeat and congestive heart failure. Digitek regulates and strengthens the heartbeat. Side effects of Digitek include blurred vision, headaches, and weakness. Digitek is made from the digitalis plant, and is a very powerful drug. Therefore, it is possible to experience Digitek poisoning from an overdose, which requires immediate medical treatment. This includes over the counter medications. Over the counter antacids are especially likely to interact with Digitek, particularly those containing magnesium or aluminum, such as Mylanta or Rolaids.

Once you begin taking Digitek, it is likely you will remain on it for the rest of your life. Your doctor will monitor your pulse and do regular bloodwork to monitor your condition. You will also need to monitor your pulse at home, which your doctor will show you how to do. You should not suddenly stop taking Digitek, as your heart may begin to function improperly.
