Estradiol

Estradiol, or ethinyl estradiol, is a synthetic form of the female hormone estrogen, used in hormone replacement therapy. Estradiol is prescribed to treat menopause in older women, premature menopause in younger women, and for women who have undergone a hysterectomy. Estradiol is available in vaginal cream or ring forms, and as an injectable drug. The ring form is inserted into the vagina, and must remain there for 90 days. The ring does not need to be removed in order to have sexual intercourse.

Estradiol side effects include headache, decrease in libido (sexual desire), and water retention. Major side effects are also possible, including chest pain, fainting, and jaundice (yellowing of the skin). Seek immediate medical care for any major side effects, and report minor side effects to your doctor as soon as possible. Estradiol is a class "X" drug, which should never be taken by pregnant or nursing women, as it is known to harm an unborn child or nursing infant. You must use a reliable birth control method to keep from becoming pregnant while taking Estradiol, but if it fails and you do become pregnant, notify your doctor immediately. Do not use hormonal birth control (such as "the pill") when taking Estradiol. Your doctor should be made aware of any medical conditions you have, especially liver or kidney disease, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Patients on Estradiol also should have good heart health. Also let your doctor know if you are taking any medications, including blood thinners or thyroid medications, as a dangerous drug interaction may occur. Patients who are 65 years old or older may have a higher risk of developing dementia while taking Estradiol.

You should never buy Estradiol online without a prescription. Estradiol should only be taken under a doctor's care, so that your condition may be monitored to change your dosage if needed. Overdose is rare, and generally not life-threatening, but dosage instructions should still be followed carefully. Your blood pressure should also be regularly checked, to assess the possibility of stroke due to long term use. Your doctor should also test you for signs of cancer development, particularly breast or uterine cancer. Estradiol may be prescribed in conjunction with progesterone, to lower the risk of uterine cancer. If you cannot obtain it at your local pharmacy, there are reputable sources to buy Estradiol online. Many online pharmacies also offer Estradiol for overnight delivery, or next day delivery.
