Zovia
Zovia is a brand name (along with Demulen) of the oral contraceptive known as Ethinyl Estradiol/Ethynodiol. Zovia is a combination of Estrogen and Progestin, which works to stop the release of eggs from the ovaries, thus preventing pregnancy. The generic Zovia may be called Ethinyl Estradiol/Ethynodiol but it has the same ingredient as Zovia.
Instructions On Using Zovia Birth Control
Zovia should be taken as prescribed by a doctor. This is to avoid any possible interactions with medications, medical conditions or problems due to over dosage. Zovia should be taken every day and at the same time every day. Because Zovia is a birth control pill, the effectiveness of the product is dependent upon the patient regularly taking the medication and not skipping any doses. While missing one pill might not disrupt the cycle, provided you get back on schedule as soon as possible, if you miss three pills in a row in the first three weeks of the pack, it is recommended that you take a pill every day until Sunday and then throw away the rest of the pack to start over. Use a back up method of birth control if you engage in intercourse in the seven days following missing a pill.
Are there any side effects to using Zovia? Minor Zovia side effects may include a change in appetite, minor spotting between periods, a change in menstrual flow, nausea, a darkening of the skin, stomach cramps and weight gain. Zovia can also produce symptoms related to severe allergic reactions. The symptoms to beware of include: severe rash, difficulty breathing or a tightness in the chest, facial swelling, breast lumps, pain anywhere in the leg along with swelling, coughing up blood, dizziness or fainting, loss of scalp hair and skipped periods. Zovia may not be prescribed if a patient has a history of blood clots, heart attack or liver disease. Women who become pregnant should not take Zovia as the drug could harm the fetus and there is no way to get pregnant a second time, hence no need for birth control.
Where Can You Buy Zovia?
You can buy Zovia with a prescription at major online stores like DrugStore.com, JanDrugs.com, RiteAid.com, PharmaSave.com and PlanetDrugsDirect.com. While some stores may offer prescription pills without the need for a doctor's prescription, remember that it's your own health at risk. Using powerful pills without a doctor's approval may cause serious side effects to develop, or at least, make the Zovia birth control less effective – which defeats the whole purpose!
